Narrowboat Competition

A great day spent on the Grand Union Canal with seven members of the club at Saisons Narrowboat Hire at Whilton Locks aboard Anjou a 40ft long tug

Saisons was originally started in 1990 by Richard and Lesley Saillet when they decided to hire out their first boat “Claret”. Over the years since then they have developed a small fleet of interesting and attractive boats. For several years they hired boats as Coronet Canal Carrying Company, a company name previously used on the old working boat they operated. Following the sale of that boat, the name Saisons was reintroduced as many people still associated this name with good value, interesting hire boats. The business is now run as part of the Canal Shop at Whilton Locks allowing us to use the latest and best equipment available on the boats, which are now all ”tug-style” narrowboats.
